Helping Children Shine Brighter Together
At Shine Therapies, we specialize in supporting children, teens, and adults with ADHD through compassionate, expert occupational therapy.

We understand that ADHD doesn’t look the same for everyone. That’s why we create personalized plans to help each client build practical skills, manage everyday challenges, and feel more confident in their routines and relationships.

Whether it’s helping a child sit through class, a teen stay organized, or an adult manage overwhelm—we meet you where you are and walk alongside you.

✨ At Shine Therapies, we believe in potential over pressure. Growth over perfection. And creating real change through understanding, empathy, and evidence-based care.

Let’s work together toward brighter days and confident futures.
Occupational Therapy for Children and Adolescents
✨Welcome to Shine Therapies
Where children grow, play, and thrive at their own pace.
At Shine, we provide expert Occupational Therapy services for infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents who may be struggling with everyday activities like play, social interaction, emotional regulation, or development.
As a pediatric OT I work closely with each child to help them build the skills they need to feel confident and capable—whether that’s learning how to get dressed, join a group at recess, or navigate big feelings.

What makes Shine unique?
Our clinic is intentionally designed to feel like a home because we believe kids learn best in environments that reflect the real world they live in. We’ve created a warm, safe space where therapy feels familiar, not clinical.

Occupational Therapy and Life-Skills Training
Beneficial for individuals diagnosed with Autism
For any learner working on everyday tasks such as making their bed, organizing laundry, cleaning the table, vacuuming, and more, half of our facility is an actual house where children can practice how to do chores.

Different areas of life skills include:
-
Meal Prep & Snacks
-
Household Chores
-
Managing Belongings
-
Time Management
-
Money Skills
-
Medication Awareness
-
Community Navigation
-
Social Communication

Occupational therapists help kids build these skills in ways that are fun, structured, and just right for their developmental stage.
Anxiety and OCD
Occupational therapy (OT) plays a unique and powerful role in supporting individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), especially when daily routines, school, or work become disrupted by compulsions or anxiety.

While OT doesn’t replace mental health therapy like CBT or ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), it complements it beautifully by focusing on real-life functioning. OTs do not directly challenge obsessive thoughts or provide talk therapy—that’s the role of a psychologist. But they do reinforce new habits and support the functional side of progress through practical, real-world application.
What OT works on:
-
Restoring Daily Routines
-
Task Tolerance & Gradual Exposure
-
Environmental Modifications
-
Emotional Regulation
-
Building Function-Based Confidence
Parent Training and Support Groups
Parenting a neurodivergent child—whether they’re navigating autism, ADHD, sensory challenges, or something still unfolding—comes with unique joys and real challenges. This group is a safe, supportive space for parents to feel heard, learn practical tools, and connect with others walking a similar path.

Handwriting Course and Practice
Unfortunately, many schools today have limited time and resources to focus on handwriting. And while it may seem like a small thing, the impact can be big. Struggles with handwriting can affect a child’s confidence, their ability to complete schoolwork, and even how they process and organize their thoughts.
At Shine Therapies, we believe handwriting is more than just neat letters, it’s a foundational skill that supports learning, focus, and self-esteem. That’s why we offer fun, OT-led handwriting support designed to help kids build the fine motor, visual, and attention skills they need to thrive.
Let’s give handwriting the attention it deserves—and help your child shine on paper and beyond.

Handwriting Support—Your Way

Sensory Processing Disorder
What Sensory Processing Disorder Feels Like
Some kids are extra sensitive to sounds, textures, or movement. Others seem like they never stop moving or need constant touch, crashing, or spinning. It’s not misbehavior—it’s their nervous system trying to make sense of the world.

For kids who experience the world through a “too much” or “not enough” lens, everyday things like getting dressed, eating, or walking into a noisy classroom can feel overwhelming. That’s where occupational therapy comes in
and it can be life-changing.

What OTs actually do:
-
Sensory Integration Play
-
Creating a Sensory Diet
-
Making Everyday Life Easier
-
Emotional Regulation
-
Supporting Parents & Teachers

OT gives your child the support they need to feel safe, confident, and capable and gives you the tools to help them get there.

Interactive Metronome
We’re Getting in Rhythm—Literally!
Ever wish your child had an “internal timer” to help them slow down, focus up, or ride out big emotions a little easier? Same. That’s why we’re now offering something new (and surprisingly fun!) at the clinic: Interactive Metronome.

It’s kind of like a musical game—except it’s secretly working on brain skills like attention, self-control, and coordination. Kids tap, clap, or step along to a beat, while the program gives instant feedback to help their brain and body sync up.

🎯 Great for kids with ADHD
🎧 Amazing for emotional regulation
💥 Bonus: It’s engaging enough to keep even the busiest kiddos coming back for more

Parents have told us they’ve seen calmer mornings, smoother transitions, and less “Where did my shoes go?!” chaos.

Basically, it helps kids find their rhythm—in life, in school, and at home.

Curious if it’s a good fit for your child? We’d love to show you how it works!
